What is Marine Biology?


-Marine biology is the scientific study of organisms in the ocean or other marine or brackish bodies of water.

There are Six Types of Lifeforms in Marine Biology

-Microscopic Life, Plants & Algae, Marine Invertebrates, Fish, Reptiles, Seabirds, & Marine Mammals.

-Microscopic Life; Better known as bacteria is still misunderstood and has so much more to discover.

-Plants & Algae; There are many different types of Plants & Algae in the water and they all take part in a certain group.

-Marine Invertebrates; As on land marine invertebrates make up a large parts of marine biography.

-Fish; Fish are very different from all the other larger organisms in the world.

-Reptiles; Reptiles are one of the largest and most know lifeforms in the world.

-Seabirds; These birds are adapted to living around water.

-Marine Mammals; Marine Mammals are living mammals that can either live in water or live by water.

What is a Marine Biologist?


Marine Biologists study ocean life and the relationship it has to the environment.

Studies are conducted from boats, at oceanography center & some aquariums.




How Could you Become a Marine Biologist?



You would need to be interested in science, math, chemistry & physics it isn't just studying animals you need to know a lot about their habitat. Keep your grades up, It will look good on your application. make sure when you choose your college you choose one that will meet your expectations.
